Executive Summary

 

In 2024, I dedicated myself to fostering meaningful connections and empowering communities through faith, advocacy, education, and philanthropy. By engaging with key stakeholders, mentoring the next generation, and supporting cultural initiatives, I aimed to uplift underrepresented voices and drive collective progress. This report provides an overview of these contributions and their impact.

Leadership and Advocacy

Leadership is at the core of my work, guiding communities toward transformation and growth. As the CEO and President of the Black Empowerment & Community Council, I led efforts to address systemic inequities while supporting grassroots initiatives. My leadership on boards such as Women United and the Women’s Executive Council Board allowed me to advance gender equity and community development.

  • Supported the Thanksgiving Turkey Drive, providing meals to over 100 families in need.

  • Developed the Community Thanksgiving Dinner for the residents at the Haven on Vine of the serving over 100 people

  • Secured a $50K grant from the City of Kissimmee for Solid Rock Community Church to run their Homeless Prevention program

  • Secured a $20K grant from the City of Kissimmee for Future Focus Family Services to run their youth programs through the Haven on Vine

  • Assisted CAFA in raising funds to giveaway over 300 turkeys Thanksgiving Turkey Drive with CAFA & Solid Rock Community Church


 

Faith-Based Contributions

Faith continues to guide my purpose and outreach. This year, I served as Executive Pastor at Solid Rock Community Church, preaching at significant services and hosting regular gatherings that brought spiritual support to congregants and beyond.

Contributions
  • Preached at 3 major services, including:

    • 7 Last Words Service for Solid Rock Community Church

    • Mother’s Day Service for St. Luke Baptist Church Narcoossee

    • Pastor’s Appreciation Day for The Kingdom Church Kissimmee

  • Hosted 12 Women’s Prayer Luncheons, welcoming over 40 attendees annually.

  • Hosted a Bible Brunch for Mothers & Daughters at White Rose Bookstore in Downtown Kissimmee

  • Led prayer at high-profile community events such as the Boys and Girls Club Faces of the Future Breakfast and the Martin Luther King Day Celebration, City of Kissimmee

Youth and Education Initiatives

Investing in the next generation remains a priority. My efforts included mentorship, resource creation, and event organization to inspire and empower youth.

Key Highlights
  • Installed the Early Learn Hub at Solid Rock Community Church through a $125K grant from the Early Learning Coalition of Osceola County which made the effort the largest installation in Osceola County, serving over 100 families annually through educational resources.

  • Secured a $20K CDBG Grant for Future Focus Family Services to run their Youth Development Program

  • Serves with the Osceola NAACP and assists with the direction of the Youth Council

  • Organized the EmpowerED Summit, drawing educators, parents, and students to discuss academic excellence.

  • Mentored 50+ students through Junior Achievement, CareerSource and Future Focus Family Services programs.

  • Supported youth empowerment events such as BridgePrep Academy’s Black History Mentoring Day and Valencia College’s Human Trafficking Awareness Days.

  • Developed the NIA (Next-Gen Innovation & Achievement) Center at Solid Rock Community Church

  • Mentored youth through the Denn John School Girl’s Mentorship program

  • Partnered with S.T.E.P.S Foundation & Xenith Academy to develop youth & family engagement programming 

  • Women’s Executive Council Scholarship Grantor




 

Cultural and Civic Engagement

I actively contributed to civic and cultural initiatives to celebrate diversity and foster inclusion. My work this year included partnerships with the City of Kissimmee to amplify community events.

Contributions
  • Partnered on 5 signature events with the City of Kissimmee, including Black History Month, Juneteenth, Caribbean Fusion Festival, and the African American Read-In, collectively engaging over 2,000 attendees.

  • Performed the National Anthem at key community gatherings, including the Osceola Magic Black History Game, Key Life Fitness 5K, and the Team BLUFOR Veteran’s Event.

  • Collaborated with Girl Scouts of Citrus to install a Council in Osceola County and hosted Girl Scout Sunday at Solid Rock Community Church

  • Partnered with Jackie Espinosa to host the Juneteenth Social Celebration event at Matador’s in downtown Kissimmee

  • Partnered with Equal Ground to host the Legislative Debrief in Osceola County

  • Partnered with Central Florida Public Media to host the Youth Voter Rally in Osceola County


Economic and Social Development

Through partnerships and participation in local economic initiatives, I supported workforce development and financial growth in Osceola County.

  • Organized the Black Business Investors Fund (BBIF Access) to Capital Event

  • Contributed to economic planning groups, such as the Downtown Kissimmee CRA Brand Strategy Focus Group.

Political, Social Justice, and Advocacy

My work in political and social advocacy focused on amplifying underrepresented voices and addressing systemic challenges. From voter engagement to legislative debriefs, I collaborated with organizations and leaders to make lasting changes.

  • Partnered with Equal Ground to organize voter rally events and legislative briefings, engaging over 500 community members.

  • Actively supported 13 local candidates, providing strategy and community outreach.

    • Monique Worrell: Serving as the State Attorney for Florida’s 9th Judicial Circuit, covering Orange and Osceola counties.

This year, I used public platforms to share knowledge, inspire audiences, and advocate for change.

  • Featured guest on the Sisaundra Show, reaching 10,000+ viewers.

  • Performed at The Church of Latter-Day Saints Giving Machine Ribbon Cutting.

  • Panelist for the Central Florida TableTalk Polis Institute Event, addressing justice and equity issues.

  • Held the Rise & Thrive Community Networking events in Matado’s, downtown Kissimmee

Health and Wellness Contributions

Health equity and community wellness have been central to my work, particularly through partnerships and panel discussions.

​

Contributions:
  • Developed the annual Unity in the Community event with AARP Orlando

  • Developed the annual Senior Health Resource Fair at Solid Rock Community Church

  • Partnered with WellCare to create resource events such as the Let’s Move Wellness Breakfast

  • Supported the Black Health Commission’s Black Joy Festival, attended by 200+ community members.

  • Partnered with Zeta Phi Beta for health panels addressing maternal and fetal mortality in the Black community. 

  • Hosted the “A Time to Talk” Mental Health Summit at Solid Rock Community Church

  • Serve on the Osceola County Homeless Initiative Coalition
